Youth organisations

There is a great deal of choice for the youngsters of Bollington! But successful youth groups need good leaders. If you would like to volunteer to help with Guides, Brownies or Rainbows please call Sally Garnett on 01625−574288 or, for Beavers, Cubs or Scouts then please go to the contact us page for Macclesfield and Congleton District Scouts.

Scouting (boys)

Beavers 6 – 8 years
Cubs 8 – 10½ years
Scouts 10½ – 14 years
Explorer 14 – 18 years

2nd Bollington Scout Group

The Group is flourishing and includes Beavers, Cubs and Scouts at present with an Explorer Unit also based at the Scout Hut. We aim to provide an exciting programme with lots of new activities for the young people to try and to have fun. All meetings are held (during term-time only) at the Scout Hut on Albert Road, Bollington. As with many Scout Groups, there can sometimes be a waiting list to join so please put your name down early to avoid having to wait! General information on Scouting can be found at our web site.

Group Scout Leader: Tim Neale

Explorer Scouts

Explorer Scouts are run by the Scout District Team rather than a local Group. For further information, please contact Tim Neale on 01625-576397 or go to the contact page for Macclesfield and Congleton District Scouts.

Scouting (girls)

Guiding is so popular that we do have waiting lists, which means girls can’t always join us straight away. We would welcome any adults who would like to join us, either as a leader or unit helper, so more girls who want to join are able to. Please contact Sally Garnett, support and training would be given, just bring your enthusiasm!

RAF Air Cadets – 236 (Bollington) Squadron

If you’re a fan of aviation, action and adventure, enjoy sports or simply like getting to know other like-minded people, then you’re in the right place! Cadet life is all about challenge, excitement and adventure. Cadets and volunteers have many opportunities including UK and overseas camps, leadership courses, air experience flights and adventure training. The focus is always on enjoying yourself while improving your skills.

We parade every Monday and Thursday nights from 18:45 to 21:15 at The Slaughter House, Shrigley Road, Bollington and we’re open to all genders from school year 8+ (aged 12-17).

If you are interested in joining or volunteering (18+) why not come along and meet the cadets and staff? We can guarantee a warm welcome to all. Every year nearly 60,000 air cadets and volunteer staff take part in exciting events all over the country. And with over 1,000 squadrons across the UK, you could be one of them.
