Beware of this email scam!

People have been receiving emails supposedly from the 'Inland Revenue' saying that they had a refund due and attaching a form to be filled in to claim it. It asks for bank and credit card details. The email looks as though it might be genuine but it is addressed 'To the Applicant' and not personally to the recipient.

The Inland Revenue, who are now known as HM Revenue & Customs, confirm it is a scam. They would never send out such a matter in an email. Do not respond to these emails. If in doubt consult your tax office.
