Bollington in Bloom

Regrettably Bollington in Bloom has become a victim of its own success. There are now so many properties being enhanced by fine displays of flowers and plants each summer - over 400 out of a total housing stock of around 3000 - that the task of inspection has become larger than we are able to undertake in a proper manner. In 2008 the exercise wasn't helped by the fact that there were relatively few sunny days and not un-naturally the judges wanted to attend to other matters on those few days.

We have therefore suspended the contest for the time being.
